Webinar ‘Material Solution for Battery Fire Protection’

We are pleased to inform you that Dow is organizing a webinar on Material Solutions for Battery Fire Protection on June 24, 4 pm CET/10 am ET.

webinar on Material Solutions for Battery Fire Protection

During this presentation, Luc Dusart, Global Segment Leader – E-Mobility, will shortly introduce Dow MobilityScience™. Tim Morley, TS&D Scientist, will detail strategies to mitigate thermal runaway, share approach to testing new materials and present opportunities for silicone in battery fire protection. This webinar is organized in collaboration with Battery Technology.

Key topics and takeaways

  • Trends shaping the mobility market.
  • Strategies to mitigate effects of thermal events in battery packs.
  • Dow’s material testing capabilities for battery fire protection.
  • How silicone foams can protect against thermal runaway.

Summary

As electric vehicles increase in popularity, so does the need for manufacturers to find reliable, cost-effective materials to prevent thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries. Silicone provides protection and excellent thermal stability for automotive battery modules of all types.

In this webinar, they will explore current strategies and materials used to mitigate thermal events. In addition, they will discuss ways to evaluate the effectiveness of these materials and the benefits of using silicones in battery fire protection applications.

Attend this webinar and learn

  • Introduction to Mobility Science at Dow
  • Battery Fire Protection Overview
  • Strategies to Mitigate Thermal Runaway
  • Approach to Testing New Materials
  • Opportunities for Silicone in Battery Fire Protection
  • Conclusions and Future Trends
